Don't use them! Plastic bags have been banned in San Francisco, and several cities are following their lead. Use reusable grocery bags . They're inexpensive, easy to find, and can carry a lot more weight than their plastic counterparts. If this is not an option, opt for paper bags- although not ideal, they're still more environmentally friendly than plastic. If you must use plastic, please recycle.
