Medicare Appeals Process
As RAC audits move forward it is more important than ever for a hospital’s “RAC Team” to understand the Medicare Appeals Process.
In January 2010, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services revised the Medicare Appeals Process Brochure. The brochure provides an overview of the Medicare Part A and Part B administrative appeals process. This process is available to providers, physicians and other suppliers providing services and supplies to Medicare beneficiaries. The brochure also provides links to more information about the appeals process.
